The
Sheriff's Office operates the largest detention facility in Southwest
Colorado with a capacity for one hundred and ninety (190) inmates.
Forty-five (45) employees work in the detention facility; thirty
(30) certified deputies, five (5) non-certified deputies, three
(3) nurses, four (4) civilian positions, and
three (3) cooks work in this Division directed by a Captain. The
Detentions Division provides for counseling, drug and alcohol therapy,
educational opportunities and work programs, including Work Release
and Day Reporting, for the inmates. All the inmates' constitutional
rights are provided for and documented in our computerized Jail
Management Information System.
