WORK
RELEASE INFORMATION
You must telephone the Work Release Coordinator to make an appointment
for a Work Release Interview. Call the Coordinator at 375-2342 Ext
201, Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. This interview
must occur at least 48 hours prior to the start of your sentence.
You may be denied Work Release if you fail to do this.
Bring your paperwork from the Court. This should be your Sentencing
Order or Mittimus (yellow or pink copy from the judge).
You must have been sentenced to at least 10 days to be eligible for
Work Release.
The Work Release Director retains the discretion to determine whether
the inmate will actually be placed in the Work Release Program. However,
the Judge must request Work Release on the Sentencing Order or Mittimus.
The Work Release Director will not place an individual on Work Release
if that person is precluded from doing so by the Court.
The La Plata County Work Release Program is a very strict program
and requires stringent criteria be met to remain in the program. Not
all applicants are accepted and it is not automatic. If you have any
questions, please call our office before your sentence date. There
is limited space and a waiting list.
