Do's and Don'ts for Families of Inmates

You May Do The Following:

MONEY

You may bring money to the front lobby from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday thru Friday, except on holidays.

• Money must be in the form of cash or money order.
• Any payroll checks or other checks brought for the inmate will be put in his/her property locker.
  

VISITATION

You may visit your family member.

• Visitation will take place Tuesday through Saturday in 30 minute increments during the following times:
  • 7:30 am - 10:30 am
  • 1:30 pm - 3:30 pm
  • 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm
• Inmates may only have one scheduled visitation per day.
• Visitors must call the day before they wish to visit to make an appointment. You may call 247-1161 ext. 2 between the hours of 8:30 am to 11:00 and 11:30 to 4:00 pm Monday through Friday.
• All visits will be video visitation.
• Only two visitors may visit an Inmate at a time.
  • The only exception will be a child under the age of 2 years who can be held on the visitor's lap.
• Visitors must be 18 years of age or older unless accompanied by an adult.
• No Bags, purses, or other personal items will be allowed in the visitation area.
• Visitors are expected to arrive 10 minutes prior to their scheduled visitation time to check in.
• Visitors who arrive after their scheduled time has begun will have their visit cancelled.
• All visitations are subject to audio and video monitoring.

MAIL

You may write to your family member.

• Address it to: inmate’s name, 742 Turner Drive, Durango, CO 81303.
• You may send money via mail.

Inmate’s friends and family members can call Correctional Billing Services (CBS) at 1-800-844-6591 to receive rate information, verify line status, remove blocks, establish debt accounts, pre-paid accounts and more.
Calling cards can be purchased through the facility and will be able to connect calls locally, cell phones and Internationally. Calling cards can also be used outside the facility.
All calls are subject to recording and monitoring at anytime!

• No hand-delivered mail.
• All mail must be sent via postal service.

YOU MAY NOT:

• Bring money or medical items for your family member during visitation.
• No contact visits.
• No visiting outside of regular hours, unless approved by jail commander.

YOU MAY NOT:

• Send anything via mail other than letters, money, and photographs.
• Photographs can not be Polaroid.
• No extra stamps, writing paper, gifts, or books.
• Inmates must order books and newspapers directly through the publisher.
